Muay Thai
Muay Thai is the national martial art of Thailand and originated more than two thousand years ago from the war skills of Thai soldiers.
Today's Muay Thai no longer has anything to do with the war element and focuses on developing a powerful fighting style, a sharp mind and a healthy lifestyle.
About Muay Thai
Centuries-old martial art
Muay Thai is an ancient martial art that has been practiced in Thailand for centuries. The sport has its origins in the Khmer Empire and Thailand. It was practiced by soldiers and farmers in Thailand and neighboring countries during times of peace.
The art of 8 limbs
Today's muay Thai comes indirectly from the armed martial art krabi krabong. When a krabi krabong fighter ran out of weapons, he could use his eight body parts as deadly weapons; this style is called muay boran.
Physically and mentally
By practicing Muay Thai you train flexibility, strength, speed, coordination, concentration and insight. But with Muay Thai you also train your mental strength. It increases your self-confidence and teaches you to deal better with setbacks and difficult situations.
Respect, discipline and self-control
Respect, discipline and self-control towards yourself and others are the core values in our gym. This is central to everything we do.
